I will be the first to admit it. I have a huge crush on Emily Steffen of Emily Steffen Photography. The moment I get an email from her, I just know that goodness is following in the subject content. So when she asked for me to design and style this shoot (or any shoot for that matter), I do this ridiculous happy dance and starting combing through images to inspire me.
First off, I have been dying to use this dress in a shoot. I mean, being a Bride and taking a risk with color is serious. I am not talking a cream or a sand, but actual color. So here sat this lovely little number at my shoppe, waiting for a sparkle moment such as this. And the color? It just happened to be the color announced by Pantone as the color of the season (after the shoot, mind you.
Sometimes we give have a feeling about good things, don't we?
So in a moment of loving the color, I started to design around the dress and I knew I had to have my favorite florist {who I so wish was attached to my hip every single day!}, Ashley Fox of Ashley Fox Designs, grabbed my favorite paper designer Dena Swenson of Dena Swenson Designs, and called my cake designer extraordinaire Angie Ford of Taylor'd Cakes.
One thing: do NOT, under any circumstances whatsoever, think that design stops there. It takes unbelievable talent to help style and create 'the look' for my couples and I simply adore Breanna of Beauty Reform. Her talent is just so...beyond words. When you can give a hair artist a few key words and she creates this- it is just so inspiring!
In a nutshell, this shoot was inspiring for so many reasons. My goal throughout all of my style shoots with Emily is to allow Brides to dream of beauty that is not only attainable on any budget, but to constantly provide something new and fresh in everything we do. And THAT, my loves, is why I am so in love with what I do.
Enjoy!
{I would apologize for the amount of photos, but it is one amazing shoot:)}
Because why wouldn't we have frogs?
I know. I am obsessed with the frogs.
